Grand City Tour – Vancouver

Vancouver is commonly called the ‘Gem on the Coast’ — see for yourself on this 5-hour guided tour.

We begin our tour at the Jack Poole Plaza, located in the heart of our harbour and convention centre area. There, your guide will discuss the city’s history and development, as well as why it has been named the most livable city in the world numerous times. Following that, your tour guide will take you to Stanley Park, North America’s largest urban park. Stanley Park is full of wonders and great history, from 1000-year-old trees to First Nations totem poles. Your guide will give a totem talk about the carvings’ spirit animals and entities, as well as their cultural significance and the surrounding geology.

Next, we’ll visit Vancouver’s elegant residential area, which contains some of the city’s oldest mansions and was established in 1907 by the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Lunch venues are determined on the day of the tour; your guide will inform you of what is available. Note: Tour buses are no longer permitted at The Granville Island Public Market as of June 4th, 2021. Instead, we offer a walking tour of the Market and its diverse range of retailers, highlighting unique artist products as well as fine produce and hot foods (this portion of the tour is walk only)

Your comprehensive tour of Vancouver includes the city’s renowned neighbourhoods: Yaletown, the old train repair yards and warehousing district; Chinatown, a history and culture review of the Chinese in Vancouver, and the world’s thinnest commercial building.

La Casa Gelato

After Chinatown, we have a treat for our visitors: a visit to the world’s largest ice cream shop, which has 238 flavours and is still run by the original Italian family.

Then we visit Gastown, Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood, your guide will tell you about the founder, Gassy Jack, and how Vancouver became the major trading port it is today.

Your driver-guide will provide fascinating insight into Vancouver’s diverse cultures, modern architecture, and urban planning. This small-group tour, limited to only eleven people, ensures a more memorable experience, with Downtown Vancouver Hotel pickup and drop-off by air-conditioned Mercedes Benz Sprinter van included.

We took a 6 hour tour of Vancouver with Michael Lawrence. It was excellent. We were promptly picked up at our hotel. Michael is a very knowledgeable guide who gave a non-stop narration, filled with history, fun facts, tips on what to do in Vancouver and where to eat, and lots of humor and jokes. We had several bathroom breaks. Lunch was at our own expense but Michael took us to a delicious fish restaurant on Granville Island. We ended the day at the world’s largest ice cream parlor–238 flavors to choose from. Michael is a trememdously nice guy and I highly recommend the tour. We had a great time!

We were a party of 6 , with one person that had mobility difficulties. Micheal was very helpful and kind to our family and friends. The places on the tour were important parts of Vancouver history and were amazing to see . I can’t wait to come back to see more parts of Vancouver and other areas

We had one day to spend in Vancouver and found this tour to be the perfect fit for our schedule. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and whisked away to a well-organized, efficient outing. From the Downtown Vancouver & Vancouver’s main port, we saw many of the top attractions in the area, including Stanley Park, Granville Island, Lions Gate Bridge, Gas Town and a few stops in between, our knowledgeable guide, Michael, shared historical & current information as well as many humorous stories throughout the day. We had wonderful food stops and enjoyed some brief shopping time at the Granville Market. Highly recommend this tour!
